Upmarket bootmaker Hunter was founded over 150 years ago. In December it appointed luxury retail executive James Seuss, 48, as chief executive. He was previously chief executive at Stella McCartney and at Cole Haan. Seuss was brought in by Searchlight Capital Partners, which bought a majority stake in the business in January 2012. Hunter had a difficult time in the early 2000s and was bought out of administration in 2006. Since then it has expanded its range of footwear, bags and accessories, and will launch its first global clothing range this year. Profits reached £22.1m in 2011.
