Neil Kipling set up ID Business Solutions in 1989 as a consultancy firm for research and development companies, and spotted a need for better software for storing, sharing and integrating data. Today, the Guildford firm says it is a leading provider of software to the pharmaceutical, petrochemical and chemical industries, with offices in Britain, France, India, China, Japan, Australia and North America. It has also diversified into healthcare and business information through acquisitions in 2009 and 2010. International sales have risen 31% a year from £15.7m in 2008 to £26.9m in 2010.
