Inclarity’s OneNumber service lets you check your messages – faxes, e-mails and voicemails – from any phone or computer. E-mails and faxes are converted by text-to-speech technology.

The company was founded as ABS Telecom in 1991. However, sales only really took off in 1998 when ABS was acquired by Ahal Besorai, using £2m from business angels. Besorai renamed the company Inclarity and began offering telephony consultancy to African and Asian businesses. At the same time he was developing the technology for OneNumber, which is sold to operators such as Vodafone. Sales have grown 123% a year from an annualised £701,000 in 1999 to £3.5m in 2001.
