When university friends Adam Carnell and James Kinsella, both 28, graduated they had already spotted a gap in the market for online printing. The duo founded Rotherham-based Instantprint in 2009 using second-hand printing equipment and a borrowed office. In 2012 the company merged with point-of-sale printing specialist Bluetree, and it now offers a range of online print products through the Instantprint, Bluetree and Route One Print brands. Customers range from sole traders to multinationals and the company claims it prints 450,000 business cards a day, helping sales reach £14.4m this year.
