Simon Nixon, 38, ran his own cafe before breaking into the dental trade. The self-funded entrepreneur noted a lack of affordable, non-surgical dental cosmetics on the market and developed INSTAsmile’s patented clip-on veneers in 2012. It offers three types of veneer, priced from £125 to £750. These can be ordered online by customers in the UK and America after completing a dental impression at home. Sales hit £5.6m in the year to September, helped by offering interest-free payment plans. In October the firm moved into a new office in Greater Manchester and it now employs more than 60 people.
