Susan Martin, a co-founder of Interdependence, is one of the few female founders on the list. Co-founder Stuart Walls says having a female director at the financial planning support company provides much more balance and has contributed to the company’s overall success. The Hampshire-based company has grown revenues from £2.1m in 1994 to £11.5m in 1997. During the past 18 months, Walls says, the company has received a number of offers for the business. He adds that while this development is certainly promising, it’s also a distraction.
