Most companies listed on the stock market have a section of their website devoted to investor relations. These pages are viewed by City analysts and investors and must be kept up to date with share-price fluctuations and announcements. But updating them is time-consuming and expensive. London-based Investis has developed a technology platform that links investor-relations pages with the stock exchange so that they are continuously updated. It says its clients include 42 of the FTSE 100 companies and the London Stock Exchange itself.
Justin Walters, formerly managing director of Guardian Unlimited, set up Investis in 2000 with £3.5m from backers that included Reuters and Lynx Capital Ventures.
Sales at the company have risen 268% a year from an annualised £153,000 in 2000 to £2.1m in 2002.
