This company replicates huge volumes of data to remote servers or laptops so that users can access information as if they were in the office. The next time the user logs on to the network, the information is updated automatically. iOra says that customers such as Cap Gemini and BT use this technology to get access to vital information – such as product and sales data – while working at clients’ sites. The military uses it to gain access to web-based information – such as technical manuals – on ships, army camps and airfields. The company’s sales have grown 113% a year from £225,000 in 2001 to £1m in 2003 when iOra made a substantial loss.
