Lincolnshire-based JO Sims was founded in 1896 in London’s Pudding Lane as a fruit trader and auctioneer. Now run by Christopher Sims, 56, the company supplies apples, cherries, cranberries and other fruit from its own farms in the US and other countries. Exports to customers in Germany, Holland, India and Hong Kong helped international sales rise to £7.9m in 2013.
