This Bradford-based car dealer group celebrated its 70th anniversary last month — it sold its first vehicle in 1946 for £175. Chairman Jack Tordoff inherited a single Jowett showroom from his father in the early 1950s and built it into a group that operates 50 showrooms across northern England, selling marques such as Audi, VW, BMW and Mercedes-Benz, as well as prestige cars including Ferrari, Porsche and Aston Martin. Jack’s son, John, 52, became chief executive in 2002.
