John Laing is a specialist owner, operator and manager of public-sector infrastructure assets through long-term public private partnerships. The company manages 70 privately financed schemes for the public sector, including a joint venture with Croydon council to regenerate parts of the town centre; the Second Severn Crossing between England and Wales; and health, education, rail, road, police and renewable energy projects. John Laing was taken private in 2006 in a £1.1billion deal led by chief executive Adrian Ewer and backed by Henderson Equity Partners. The London group reported sales of £718m in 2011.
