The country’s largest employee-owned company has shared £145m in profits this year, with more than 90,000 staff receiving bonuses equivalent to more than five weeks’ pay. The London-based partnership generated sales of £9.7bn over the past financial year, boosted by growth in its fashion, home and home-technology departments. Chairman Sir Charlie Mayfield, 49, leads the group that comprises 46 John Lewis shops and 346 Waitrose branches, as well as their respective websites.
