Profit Track 100

Junkyard’s brightly coloured crazy golf courses are themed on nightmare fairgrounds, 1990s raves, jungles and car scrapyards. Founded in 2015, the Manchester company now has five venues after opening in Liverpool in 2019. Profits hit £4.9 million in the year to March 2020 under co-founder Mat Lake, 43. Since then its sites have had to close during national and local lockdowns. It has also scaled back its expansion plans but still hopes to open in Newcastle upon Tyne this year. Former commercial director Sam Jones, 40, has led the business since August.
