Last year “hungry surfers” in 13 countries used this website to order more than 15m takeaways. Originating in Denmark, JUST EAT launched in Britain in 2006 and is now based here. Headed by chief executive Klaus Nyengaard, sales grew 85% a year from £5.6m in 2008 to £35.1m in 2011, partly based on overseas expansion driven by acquisitions. In January, JUST EAT entered France through a joint venture with French takeaway website Alloresto, and it plans further expansion after recently raising $64m in venture capital, in a funding round led by Vitruvian Partners.
