JW Galloway says it is the biggest meat exporter in Scotland, slaughtering, processing and selling beef and lamb under the Scotbeef and Scotlamb brands. The family-owned company, based in Stirling, sells Angus beef and lamb to Sainsbury’s and M&S, and reckons it is the latter’s biggest meat supplier. Supermarket chains in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Italy are also buyers, while its tripe products sell in Poland and Hong Kong. Under managing director Robbie Galloway, international sales have grown 28% a year from an annualised £27.8m in 2009 to £45.9m in 2011.
