With customers including J Sainsbury and Marks & Spencer, this Scottish group, which recently won a Queen’s Award for International Trade, supplies meat to more than 20 European countries under the Scotbeef and Vivers Scotlamb brands. Sales rose to £213.9m in 2011, helped by the company’s fast-growing exports, which increased by almost 10% to £45.9m. Family-run JW Galloway was founded in 1920 and is led by chairman Ian Galloway and his son, Robbie, who is managing director.
