A reduction in the activity of oil and gas producers pushed profits down by 13% to £171m on turnover of £904m last year at this Aberdeen-headquartered drilling contractor. Despite this, KCA Deutag, led by chief executive Norrie McKay, 58, went on to acquire Dalma Energy’s Omani and Saudi Arabian businesses for $660m (£490m) in March, with Dalma’s shareholders taking a 22% stake in the combined entity.
