Kelda’s main subsidiary, Yorkshire Water, provides water and waste water services to more than 4.7m people and 140,000 businesses. Other units undertake water services for other companies, and provide outsourced customer relationship management. Kelda also owns a property development subsidiary, tasked with getting the greatest possible value out of its property portfolio. Sales reached £879m in 2007 under chief executive Kevin Whiteman. Kelda was delisted this year for more than £3 billion by a consortium including Citigroup, GIC, Infracapital and HSBC.
