This global food-trading group supplies meat and poultry, as well as fruit, juices, purées and honey. It was founded in 1966 to import canned food. Since then, it has built up a network of 17 offices on four continents, with China being its largest export market. Lamex expanded further in April when it acquired a Serbian frozen fruit and vegetable processor. Under chief executive Phillip Wallace, 63, sales reached £676m in 2012.
