This global food-trading group supplies meat and poultry, as well as fruit, juices, purées and honey. The company was founded in 1966 to import canned food. Since then, it has built up a network of 16 offices on four continents, with China being its largest export market. Based in Hertfordshire, Lamex is run by chief executive Phillip Wallace, who was appointed as managing director in 1980 and led a £30m buyout in 2006. Sales reached £447.1m in 2010.
