Established to sell coal to homes in Northern Ireland, LCC now operates sites in Belfast, Belgium and Spain that purify coal mined in Colombia and ship it to industrial customers from Scandinavia to Australia. It has also diversified into oil, gas and electricity, with a Belfast terminal capable of accommodating 120,000-ton tankers, and a chain of unmanned petrol stations. Its Go Power subsidiary supplies gas and electricity to customers including Asda and Bushmills whiskey. Based in Co Tyrone, LCC is owned and run by founder Michael Loughran, 69, and his family.
