This company’s multi-attraction smartcards are used by tourists in cities including London, Paris and New York. It also builds customised software for tourist boards to manage their own smartcard systems. In 2016, Exponent bought the business for an undisclosed sum, and the following year, it merged its US portfolio company Smart Destinations and acquired the New York Pass. The deal made Leisure Pass the world’s largest attraction pass operator, and boosted its sales — which represent the total value of cards sold — to an annualised £225.8m in 2017. Its chief executive is Ted Stimpson, 52.
