This Birmingham packaging maker’s products include crates for Ford motor components and food containers for Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury and Morrison. Now, its products have also appeared in Tate Modern – Linpac supplied the 14,000 white boxes used in the recent installation artwork called Embankment, created by Rachel Whiteread. The company was founded in 1959 by Evan Cornish. Montagu Private Equity took a 47% stake in an £860m deal in 2003. Linpac’s sales were £1,132m in 2005.
