Fast Track 100

Founded in Bristol in 2002 by two friends – Alex Reilley and Jake Bishop, both 43 – this company now operates 89 neighbourhood cafe bars and city-centre restaurant bars. These casual dining venues are open all day and aim to be family-friendly. Piper Private Equity bought a significant minority stake in Loungers for £16m in 2012 and has helped fund the group’s rapid expansion. Opening 15 new Lounges and six Cosy Clubs in the past year helped sales surge to £68.5m in 2016. The company is reported to be up for sale with a £150m valuation.
