Sales at Lucite International jumped £112m to £694m in 2003, and the company is constructing a new factory in China to cope with the demand. Lucite International was formerly Ineos Acrylics, the acrylics division of the chemicals giant ICI. It was bought in 1999 for £505m by Charterhouse Capital Partners. The Southampton company’s products include plastics, resins and materials such as Perspex and Lucite.
