If you’ve bought salmon from Aldi, you may recognise this Glasgow-based firm. Established in 2002 by the late Angus MacKenzie and restructured in 2015, it works with fish farmers to process their fish, which it then packages and sells to retailers, fishmongers and independent businesses. It has a zero-waste policy and has its own recycling facility, with some by-products used to make goods such as salmon burgers. The company is led by chief executive Mary Bisset, 60. It achieved sales of £27m last year, 19% of which came from exports to Europe and America, and plans to develop its Glasgow site further.
