This family business publishes a portfolio of 62 print trade and consumer magazines and websites, including Nursery World, PrintWeek and British Journal of Nursing. The London business has also diversified into events and exhibitions, while its Master Travel business runs escorted study tours around the world. In 2014 it spent an undisclosed sum to buy manufacturing and engineering industry publisher Findlay Media, the latest in a string of acquisitions that the company expects to help it grow profits to £3.8m in 2015. It is led by CEO Ben Allen, 40, and his father, Mark, 70, chairman and founder.
