Top Track 250

Essex-based Matchroom Sport produces more than 2,500 hours of original footage every year, staging, promoting and televising events across 11 sports. Set up in 1982 by chairman Barry Hearn, 71, it was originally involved in snooker event management but has diversified its coverage to include golf, fishing and gymnastics. Recent growth has been fuelled by the success of Matchroom Boxing, with a stable headed by former and current world champions Anthony Joshua, Callum Smith and Katie Taylor, helping to grow profits 79% to £30m. Barry’s son, Eddie Hearn, 40, heads the group as managing director.
