McLaren Automotive, the largest of this group’s three subsidiaries, is investing £1.2bn to develop 18 new supercar models by the end of 2025. The group’s other divisions are: Racing, which owns the Formula One team; and Applied Technologies, which develops software and components. Executive chairman Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al Khalifa, 50, Crown Prince of Bahrain, oversees the Woking group. It is majority-owned by Bahrain’s sovereign wealth fund.
