Kimi Raikkonen and Juan Pablo Montoya are behind the wheels of the McLarens in this year’s Formula One championship. Founded by Bruce McLaren in 1963, the company has evolved into an engineering empire with sales of £169.8m in 2003 and interests that include high-performance road cars, automotive electronic systems, marketing, catering and the Lydden Circuit race track. The firm is based in Woking, Surrey and is 40%-owned by Daimler Chrysler. Ron Dennis, head of the company, owns 30% and rest is owned by Techniques d’Avant Garde.
