At present, MCM Construction does all its work on the Isle of Wight, where the local council is one of its main customers. Brendan McMahon founded the company in 1992, when it concentrated on ground works projects, such as building the sea wall at Ryde. The company’s main activity is now general building, and includes a £2.6m contract for a new ward at a local hospice. It also does work at Parkhurst jail. Sales have grown 73% a year from £1.3m in 2000 to £6.9m in 2003.
