The Scottish clothing retailer Mackays is having a busy 2007; it has refurbished most of its 275 stores and rebranded them under the M&Co name. The company has also launched an online store to complement its bricks-and-mortar business. Created when two brothers took over a pawnbroker and turned it into a clothing business, the firm remains under family control. Chairman and chief executive Iain McGeoch oversaw sales of £159.2m in 2006.
