This 140-year-old firm scours the world to source oils, waxes, fatty acids and epoxy resins. These products are imported through Felixstowe and then taken to warehouses in its home town of Liverpool. From here they are supplied to a wide range of customers and industries. These include lubricant manufacturers, pharmaceutical and personal care companies as well as producers of coatings, composites and paint. Managing director Philip Tarleton is now looking to expand and wants to open distribution facilities in Scandinavia and the Benelux countries. The company’s sales have grown 64% a year from £6.8m in 2004 to £29.8m in 2007.
