When extra mobile-phone masts were needed for Madonna and Guy Ritchie’s wedding in December 2000, Medlock made sure that the Dornoch cathedral site in the Highlands was well equipped. The Salford company specialises in building permanent or temporary phone masts for British operators such as Vodafone, Orange and MM02. It has boosted its profits by 42% a year from £1.2m in 1997 to £3.3m in 2000, when it had 231 staff.
