Cashmere, jersey and silk are some of the luxurious but comfortable fabrics used by this London-based womenswear designer. The brand’s wardrobe basics, which include knitwear, jackets and accessories, are a favourite of British actresses Rosamund Pike and Rebecca Hall as well as human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, and ME+EM won global attention when the Duchess of Cambridge wore its Breton top during last year’s royal tour to New Zealand. Founder and creative director Clare Hornby, 46, started the business in 2009, and in August it secured undisclosed investment from venture capitalists and business angels, including Carphone Warehouse founder Sir Charles Dunstone.
