During the lockdown, in partnership with NHS Scotland, Menzies delivered 10 million items of medical equipment to 931 GP practices and 1,094 care homes. It also began supplying food to 500 of One Stop’s convenience stores. Sold by John Menzies to private equity firm Endless for £74.5m in 2018, the Edinburgh company normally delivers more than 36 million newspapers and magazines a week to newsagents and retailers across the UK and Ireland. Under chief executive Greg Michael, 52, it has introduced electric vehicles to its 2,000-strong fleet and expanded outside print media, working with companies including Card Factory and WH Smith.
