MFG became one of the largest petrol station operators in the UK last year after it acquired rival MRH for £1.2bn. It now has 898 stations operating under the BP, Shell, Esso, Texaco, Jet and Murco brands, selling 4.5bn litres of fuel each year. It is installing electric vehicle charging points across its network and has opened its first post office. Chief executive William Bannister, 52, and chairman Alasdair Locke, 65, have guided MFG together since they led a management buyout in 2011.
