Micro-Robotics won an award for scientific and technical achievement at the 1992 Oscars for its puppetry in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. Today Micro-Robotics’ electronic controllers are used in a wide variety of industries, from mining to controlling vacuum pumps used to clean wounds during operations. Sales at the Cambridge company, which was founded in 1984, have grown 73% from £479,000 in 1999 to £1.4m in 2001.
