Mint Velvet’s range of women’s clothing, accessories and footwear is available online, in its 28 shops and in 90 concessions in department store chains, such as House of Fraser and John Lewis. The Buckinghamshire business, which describes its style as “relaxed glamour”, was founded in 2009 by former fashion retail colleagues, Liz Houghton, 51, Stuart Grant, 40, Lisa Agar-Rea, 47, and Jane Rawlings, 49. Sales tripled over the past three years, to £63.1m this year. Last week Mint Velvet sold a stake of undisclosed size to Lewis Trust Group, the investment business set up by the founders of River Island.
