Named after a northwestern Mediterranean wind, Mistral offers a range of internet services including connection, web hosting and consultancy to customers such as Microsoft, Sony Music and Bacardi. The entrepreneur Anthony Galley bought out founder Steve Spink for an undisclosed amount last year, but the Brighton company is still headed by Karl Robinson, its managing director. Mistral acquired four small internet service providers in 2002. The cost of these purchases has been low, and Robinson says they all look set to pay for themselves by the end of the year. More acquisitions are in the pipeline. Mistral’s sales have grown 69% a year from £2m in 2000 to an annualised £5.8m in 2002.
