Growing from a three-person attic operation in 1996, this London-based travel search group now has 23m visits a month and operates in 20 languages in 35 markets. Chief executive Hugo Burge, 43, led the purchase of Danish search engine Momondo in 2011 and has expanded the brand across non-English speaking territories. The group also owns travel website Cheapflights, which has grown in countries such as the US, helping international sales to reach £42.4m in 2014. Last year, private-equity firm Great Hill Partners paid £80m for a 60.2% stake.
