Tech Track 100

In the bewildering world of personal-finance products, has cleaned up by offering online comparisons of rates for different deals. Co-founders Duncan Cameron and Simon Nixon have since gone on to add other cost-comparison websites, including those focused on insurance and travel, and a mortgage search facility they say is used by 7,000 financial advisers. Moneysupermarket says the websites attract 100,000 users a day. Sales, which are generated on a “pay-per-click” basis, grew 57% a year from an annualised £24.3m in 2002 to £59.7m in 2004, when it made good profits.
