When Seif Saghri sold his telecoms business in 1999, he used the money to found Motivano. The company’s software manages employee benefits – from pensions and private healthcare to gym membership. The system is web-based and employees can go online and select the benefits they find most appealing. At first it targeted smaller businesses, but Motivano now has larger clients such as Citigroup, Glaxo Smith Kline and Granada Media – companies that pay as much as 20% of salaries in perks. Sales have grown by 112% a year from an annualised £662,000 in 2000 to £3m in 2002.
