Bedfordshire-based Moto operates 68 service areas at 53 locations across the UK and is Britain’s biggest Costa Coffee franchisee. In 2015, the Universities Superannuation Scheme bought the firm for a reported £1.1bn, before private equity firm CVC Capital Partners acquired a 40% stake for a reported £400m. Under chief executive Tim Moss, 56, the business is investing in its in-house restaurant brand Arlo’s, as well as trialling franchises with KFC.
