In response to the coronavirus outbreak, Moto closed some food brands at its 70 motorway service areas and donated spare meals to hospitals and care homes, while NHS workers were offered a 50% discount and HGV drivers received free hot meals and hot drinks. The Bedfordshire firm is Britain’s biggest Costa Coffee franchisee; it also operates franchises for Burger King and M&S. It is led by chief executive and former Greggs boss Ken McMeikan, 55, and is majority-owned by the Universities Superannuation Scheme and CVC.
