It now exports to 46 countries, with key markets including Europe, the US and Asia Pacific. Its brands Applaws, Encore and its newest launch Nature’s Calling — cat litter made from walnut shells — generated international sales of £19.8m in 2015, under chief executive Julian Bambridge, 44. Private-equity firm ECI acquired a majority stake in the business for £50m in March.
