After being taken private in 2004 by founder Tom Singh, fashion retailer New Look appointed Phil Wrigley as chief executive and has continued to increase sales. Wrigley has led an aggressive expansion, including the conversion of 35 former Littlewoods stores bought from Primark. Weymouth-based New Look now has 548 stores in Britain and Ireland. In April the company announced plans to open 12 stores in Belgium and France trading as New Look. They will operate alongside the 218 Mim stores it already owns there. Annualised sales rose to £822m in 2005.
