Founded in 2008, this London underwriting agency provides insurance products in areas from construction and reinsurance to aviation and space. It has offices in nine countries, including America, Italy and Malaysia, and is backed by investor BP Marsh. Under founder and group chief executive Colin Thompson, 48, its profits (ebitda) reached £14.5 million in 2019. Last September it separated its broking business, Xenia, and in January made its 18th acquisition, of Hiscox MGA’s marine insurance business. It aims to underwrite gross written premiums of $1 billion (£720 million) by 2023.
