This company has invested heavily in its online booking system, which helps firms hire vehicles from 100 providers in Britain and worldwide. Beyond cars and vans, Nexus offers horse boxes, tippers, ambulances and hearses. In May 2010, the Leeds-based company bought Adapted Vehicle Hire, which it says has made it the largest British provider of rental cars for the disabled. Neil McCrossan, chief executive, and his team bought the firm for £11m with backing from Isis Equity Partners in 2008. Sales grew 63% a year, from £7.8m in 2007 to £33.5m in 2010.
