Founded in Ireland in 1969 by chairman and chief executive Edward Haughey – now Lord Ballyedmond – as a pharmaceuticals manufacturer, Norbrook filed its first patent in 1974 and today it researches, develops and produces a wide range of medicines and veterinary drugs, and also contract manufactures. Based in Newry in County Down, exports accounted for 84% of sales.
